"Awake, O Sleeper...."

On this Holy Saturday, the church metaphorically waits by a tomb... but in reality, only a handful were there.

More recently, though, we've all shared another experience of keeping vigil in expectant hope. And as an epic Lent among us reaches its fulfillment, let that sign of the wait's end be ours again....

Ecclesia Dei, Surrexit Dominus de sepulchro – Surrexit Christus, spes nostra, Alleluia!

Christos voskrese... ¡El Señor resucitó, Aleluya!

Indeed, church, He is Risen – every blessing, gift and joy of Easter to you and yours....

Fratelli e sorelle, Buona Pasqua!

* * *
And along those lines, with all good wishes, an Easter greeting to one and all, from the Pope....

(Translation: "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He isn't here – He is Risen.")
